SeaHelsinki operates a beautiful line from the Market Square (Kauppatori) in the heart of Helsinki city to the summer paradise of Hernesaaren ranta and to the beach of Eira, close to the biggest and most interesting design Sauna in Helsinki, Sauna Finlandia or as it is also called, Hernesaaren löyly. The ship on the line is 50-year old Marival, which is both cozy and has all the modern comforts you could ask for. Marival also has a bar with a large selection of drinks and has a patio upper-deck!
The route from Kauppatori is filled with interesting sights, such as the historic Suomenlinna and Särkkä fortress Islands and the Uunisaaret (Oven-Islands, named after the historic tile-ovens on the islands). On the way back we pass the narrow strait close to the most popular park in Helsinki, Kaivopuisto. You will also see hundreds of small sailing vessels along the coastline and the largest number of small historic sailing ships in Finland. The price for a one-way ticket to Hernesaari is 8 euros only and a round-trip ticket is 12 Euros. You can also spend some time in Hernesaari and return later the same day with the same ticket.
